Finally Outdoors- For Better or for Worse!

So that outdoor lesson on Friday that we were so excited for? Oy vey! Teddy "spooked"- meaning he slowly moved sideways, at a dog, and then my confidence was shot. So his playful head toss coming out of a line caused me to lose my stirrup and burst into tears. Our show prospects were not looking promising at this point.
For the love of god- these horses have not had turnout, euro, or outdoor rides for two months at this point! If this is Teddy's "wild" I'll take it!

Ali knows me all too well so for our lessons on Saturday she had me warm them both up, then she jumped around, and then I jumped around. Exactly what I needed- visual proof that they weren't both trying to kill me.

Despite the chicken wings (elbows)- I think we got just what we needed to feel confident showing this week!

  1. Don't you just love trainers who know exactly what we need?! Good luck this week!

  2. Glad you were able to get back out and do it! My nerves are always kinda frayed at the beginning of the season when I feel like we are all a bit rusty...

  3. You look great! Trusting a new horse takes time. I can totally relate.

  4. The first show is always tough, especially with a new horse! Just remember eyes up, heels down, leg on and you'll do great!!
